As Taiwanese known that one of the most well-known food in Yilan is conserved fruit. Although I born and lived in Yilan but the conserved fruit is never my first choice. However, I completly changed my mind during the Chinese Lunar year vacation. When my family visited relatives, my aunt gave her home-made kumquat. When my sister ate that , she even said that she wanted to buy it. So you know how delicious it is. Here is the receipe.
Ingredients
10 kg Kumquat 10台斤金棗
3 kg brown suger 3台斤砂糖
3 g salt 3兩鹽巴
Directions
1. Pierce few holes over kumquat with littlestick 用牙籤在每顆金棗皮上刺幾個洞
2. Put kumpuat in boiled water few minutes and took kumpuat out till them cool down. 滾水川燙金棗
3. Put kumpuat in a jar with suger and salt. 將金棗放入玻璃罐中, 放滿後加入砂糖跟鹽
4. Keep the jar in cool place for 3 days.放置3天即可食用

Weekend window shopping
Jul. 8, 2007In the morning, I had a date with my former colleague. This year is a tough one to both of us. Because we faced the same situation, lose job. We have different situation. I will be layoff, which is much better one since I will have layoff payment. She is not. Anyway, it seems more and more people face the same delima, whether or whether not quit the job unwillingly. Hope it won't happen so frequently.
